When a patient needs to be transferred, the centralized OhioHealth Transfer Center is ready for your call. Not only does a trauma alert bring the necessary resources together for the optimal care of your patient, the patient is prioritized for registration, CT scanning, OR, and other services. If the patient is arriving by helicopter, our security team and an ED paramedic may also respond to the helipad for assistance. When a trauma alert is activated, emergency department staff, trauma team members, and others from ancillary services, such as radiology, blood bank, lab, pharmacy, and respiratory services respond to the trauma bay to await EMS arrival.
